In the land of Prydain, Taran is bored with his life on a farm as the assistant pig keeper caring for a pig who can tell the future if one knows how to ask. He longs for adventure like his hero, Prince Gwydion. On the day the pig vanishes Taran becomes involved in a battle between the forces of good and evil that threatens the kingdom of Prydain.
